Holiday Appointments

With Halloween in the books, Thanksgiving and Christmas are right around the corner. At this time of year, grooming appointments are in high demand and book very quickly. We understand that everyone wants their pup to look snazzy for the holidays, so it is essential that you do not wait until the last minute to book your appointment, as there may be a long wait list, especially for weekends. During the holiday season, we will be unable to accommodate same day or walk in baths/grooms (only walk in nail trims will be accepted). Please keep in mind that even if your pet visits us every month, you will still need to schedule their holiday appointment in advance.
Here we tend to each pet individually with care unlike other salons that run like an assembly line to get your pet in and out, which is why we have only a limited number of appointment spaces available. If for whatever reason you are unable to make your appointment, please let us know as soon as possible so that appointment slot can be re-opened.

Tips for Treating Your Dog's Allergies

With allergy season for humans starting to kick into overdrive, lots of people don't realize their dog can also have allergies. If your dog is an obsessive licker or he frequently scratches or scoots across the floor, he may have allergies. Just like humans, dogs can overreact to harmless allergens in the air, sneezing and itching as a result. There are four main types of allergies in dogs: atopy, flea, food, and contact. Atopy refers to enviornmental allergies; a dog's body releases excess histamine when exposed to a higher concentration of pollen in the air. The most common symptoms of atopic allergies are itching, scratching, biting, and chewing. Dog Friendly Events in 2018

Everyone loves to bring their dog out with them, in fact, most people, including us, wish we could take our pups everywhere! Here is a list of some of the dog friendly events coming up in Richmond in 2018. ● Pups and Pints – Beginning in April, Pups and Pints takes place at Ellwood Thompson’s the 2nd Thursday of every month from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
